Autopilot, which was halfway finished for a long time, has now been completed and tested. The problem was the pitch wheel assembly is a rather complex design with solenoids and resetting potentiometers I just could not figure out how to interface so I decided to strip everything and place 360° high-definition hall sensors on the pitch and bank knobs. Using brass tubing I could make a suitable adapter to the old gear but space was somewhat limited.
I did not have the correct plugs for the autopilot so had to make new ones and using the laser you can engrave the pin’s function straight away.
